The American Osteopathic Academy of Orthopedics (AOAO) track will close gaps by equipping PCPs with up-to-date, practical, and evidence-based musculoskeletal (MSK) knowledge.

MSK complaints account for 20–30% of all primary care visits, making them one of the most common reasons patients seek medical attention. Despite this high prevalence, multiple studies show that primary care physicians (PCPs) often feel underprepared to diagnose, manage, and triage MSK conditions, especially as treatment options evolve rapidly. New diagnostic tools, regenerative therapies, updated imaging guidelines, and shifting best practices in conservative management have widened the gap between current evidence and day-to-day primary care practice.
